Thefts of smartphones: Google, Samsung, Apple and other equip its anti-theft tools on its device

It may not be the "Kill Switch" mandatory required to producers by the state of California some time ago, but many of the protagonists of Mobile have agreed to equip their terminals of a burglar tools, from July 2015.

Apple and Samsung have been the last two manufacturers to enter into a circle which also includes Google, HTC, Huawei, Microsoft, Motorola, Nokia and U.S. operators Verizon, AT & T, T-Mobile, and Sprint: all terminals produced by them and / or distributed in the U.S. by 2015 will be equipped with a special software tool designed to prevent theft.

In particular, the software will allow, in case of theft or loss, to perform a remote wipe of the device, thus eliminating the personal data and making use of the smartphone impossible without entering a PIN or password. The reactivation of the terminal will also take place with the explicit consent of the rightful owner, so going to involve the carrier.

It is therefore important news, but not everyone agrees, for example, the California State Senator Mark Leno, author of the bill earlier view, defines the introduction of this tool to insufficient anti-thief  "combat street crime and violent robberies involving smartphones and tablets", hoping instead the introduction of the aforementioned "kill switch" that would, in his opinion, a really deterrent effect on criminals.
