Doctor Chat, the first app that connects doctors around the world

Doctor Chat With the application you can share reports, medical records, analysis, ideas, and manage complex cases involving professionals of the most important health care facilities.


A tourist contracts a laryngeal tuberculosis during a trip to an exotic country, a businessman finds himself with a disease unknown in the East, but still endemic in Europe. What ties together these two cases? The exceptional first of all, but also the difficulty for the patient, to find adequate medical facilities and doctors are able to identify in a relatively short time that the cure is the disease. Now, thanks to the internet and new technologies, there is an application that, in fact, cancel the expectations and difficulties, which manages a network of doctors from around the world and allows them to exchange ideas, reports, opinions and advice, but not only.

 The application, the brainchild of the Sicilian doctor Francesco Cupido , otolaryngologist and researcher at the university, is free for a few days and is already available on the App Store.

Already been translated into six languages, Doctor Chat offers the opportunity to interact with colleagues specialists of all nationalities, asking advice or share, collaborate to examine cases envisaged by a colleague in hopes of receiving a tip that could prove crucial to the of its solution. Lean and fast as an ordinary chat, its added value is the ability to easily archive discussions on individual cases, to create databases on patients - very useful tool for the care they require months and sometimes even years - and to identify medical conditions and discussions with a simple keyword linked for example to the symptoms of the patient himself.

There is also a playful aspect, "linked - explains Cupido - the ability to find classmates, expand their knowledge, create new collaborations or research groups."

Doctor Chat allows you to attach pictures and video clips, write and draw on the images that each doctor decides to send to highlight the most interesting parts.

In addition, all cases envisaged by users and solved thanks to their participation will be published (obscuring, where required, the names of the doctors intervened to protect their privacy) on the portal in order to create a useful reference tool.

Log in, register and download the app is free and easy. After registration, each doctor can immediately look for colleagues by name, nationality, specialty and speak with them, to draw the attention of users registered a case, forward a question, or even search among all cases also raised by others what is most interesting, or on which you want to express an opinion.
