Microsoft offers 100$ to Windows XP users to switch to Windows 8

With the impending end of support for Windows XP scheduled for April 8, Microsoft has launched a new offer within their Microsoft Store online. The company offers a discount of 100$ on some Windows 8 to all users of Windows XP.

However, discounts are available only on some selected systems that are sold on the online store and have a list price of more than $ 599. The offer is valid in the United States from March 20 until June 15, 2014, or while stocks last. Are excluded from this promotion all models Surface 2. The offer is also valid for only one device per license.

In the promotion are proposed ninety days in addition to the free support migration of data between the two systems through appropriate application of Microsoft. It is not unusual initiative for the Redmond company, in an attempt to feed the market share of Windows 8 and later versions that are struggling to establish themselves on earlier.

Windows XP is still widely used especially in emerging countries and for this reason it seems a mistake to offer such promotions only within U.S. borders. On This Page you can find more details on the offer, which does not have any feedback on the stores of other countries.
