Apple acquires LuxVue specialized in micro-LED display for low power consumption

A rumor in recent days has finally been confirmed. Apple has now purchase LuxVue Technology, specializing in the production of displays with low power consumption based on micro-LEDs.

The display is the main cause of the waste of battery and as we know Apple prefers caring for the design rather than a considerable thickness and a very large battery. It follows that the interest towards the micro-LED may be really interesting because the display guarantee excellent performance, however, consuming very little energy, which would allow to get a longer battery life while not increasing the capacity of the same, and therefore even the thickness of the current one.
