Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Samsung promises a new design

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will come in the second half of 2014 with a new "form-factor." We expect a curved display "three-sided" on the sides.

In a lengthy interview with Reuters, Samsung's senior VP for product strategy Yoon Han-kil said that the South Korean manufacturer is working on a new laptop that Tizen will launch later this quarter. In addition, he also said that one smartwatch Wear with Android platform is in development and will be available by the end of the year. Yoon also said in the interview that Samsung will launch the next version of the Galaxy Note - Galaxy Note 4 - with a "new form-factor" in the second half of 2014.

Yoon gave no further details about what kind of form factor will characterize the next Galaxy Note 4, but it is clear that the manufacturer is looking for his next big step forward.

According to the rumors, Samsung will focus on the market for wearable devices this year, but that does not mean that the manufacturer will not devote his attention to its line of smartphones and phablet. It is likely that Samsung will use a curved display a king faces that folds on the sides of the device for its upcoming Galaxy Note 4.

The display in question would make use of the flexible screen technology from Samsung and allow users to view notifications in and read messages on the device side. This is not the first time we hear rumors of a screen 'three-sided' that could debut on the next generation of Galaxy Note. In February, there were already indications that Samsung could use this technology in the Galaxy Note 4.

In addition to the three-sided display (as you see in the picture above), the device is said to resist water and dust, with a coating material very similar to what we find today in the Galaxy S5.

Regarding the output, it is almost certain that Samsung will announce the Galaxy Note 4 at the IFA show in Berlin, which will be held in September. In fact, previous generations of phablet Galaxy Note were all presented at IFA.
