After the games, we aim to create a platform for Oculus with many other experiences. This really is a new communication platform. To feel truly present, you can share unlimited spaces and experiences with the people in your life. Imagine not only to share moments with your friends online but entire experiences and adventures.

In short, the idea of Facebook is to extend and take advantage of Oculus "advantage exists in the world of games for use in new vertical markets, including communications, media and entertainment, education and other areas." In other words, the company will use the Oculus, as a base for experiencing virtual reality, hoping that will be the next platform after desktop and mobile. Oculus will maintain its headquarters in Irvine, California, and as with all the recent major acquisitions of Facebook, Oculus also continue to operate independently.
