A new mixture for batteries seems to be able to speed up the charging of 300%, also increasing the resistance to degradation over time. Here is what has emerged from the study.
A study conducted by the University of Tokyo, could give life to batteries that are recharged very quickly.
The secret, developed by Japanese scientists, is a new electrolyte to be used in the batteries of the devices, a substance that has high reactivity and resistance to degradation, two properties that leave dream high performance batteries of the future. The chemical uses a solvent four times more concentrated than those currently present in the batteries, and the new mixture should not only ensure a longer duration in time, but also a reduction of the times of charging really remarkable, up to three times.
The objective of the research was to find a solution to be applied to electric cars, but not as to exclude a possible implementation of future smartphone: although most concern is the autonomy of end customers, a bottleneck that prevents any user of smartphones that uses medium intensity with his device to pass a whole day without being forced to resort to the charger.
