Android twice more stable than iOS, according to a study

The latest report on the state of the market for devices published by the company management applications Crittercism indicates that the operating system from Google that it is actually more stable than that of Apple. The analysis covered the latest versions of the two most popular mobile operating systems, Android and iOS.

The study was done by measuring the rate of crash (when the application is no longer working and closes or restarts by itself) applications that run on both platforms, and the results of the analysis were collected from Crittercism and published in its first report called Mobile Experience Benchmark.

The report, which has collected reports of applications submitted as a result of a crash of 1 billion mobile phone users over a period of a month, shows that Apple's iOS is the operating system more unstable. While on iOS 6, iOS 7,0 and iOS 7,1 have crashed applications for 2.5 percent, 2.1 percent and 1.7 per cent of cases, respectively, the Android versions were better across the board: Android 2,3 has a higher rate of crashes by 1.7 per cent, while all versions after 4,0 Ice Cream Sandwich showed equal to or less than 0.7 percent.

Crittercism says that the versions for tablet applications tend to be less stable than their counterparts for smartphones, an area where Android developers have lagged behind those for iOS. In fact, an application that is natively developed Android Smartphone, in event that it is installed on a tablet, tends to crash in most cases.

An analysis of the filtered data for smartphone model, it appears that Samsung Android devices have lower crash rates on both tablet smartphone, while the iPhone 5 iPhone 5s as device delivers surprisingly more stable (on the iPhone 5s crashes are more frequent).
