Office for iPad: now available for free Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Microsoft finally releases the Office suite for iPad. The three applications, Word, Excel and Power Point, are now available free in the App Store.


It took years before Microsoft decided to launch its Office suite for iPad. After much speculation, finally, the most well-known suite of productivity in the desktop becomes reality for the iPad. Microsoft has just released in the App Store for iPad applications related to the three sheets of text, spreadsheets and presentations, indeed official applications Word, Excel and Power Point. The three applications are available free to download, but the free version will only allow viewing of the relevant documents, and in order to actually create and edit office documents you will need to have a subscription to Office 365, which has a cost of 109 dollars a year and provides access to its function up to five desktop machines, including Mac and PC, as well as other devices such as iPhone and now iPad too.

The three applications just released by Microsoft in the App Store have the express purpose of appearing on the tablet of Cupertino home the exact user experience provided on both PC and Mac With regard to Word documents that you can work with images, tables , charts, SmartArt, notes, footnotes, and equations, just as in their desktop version. Word documents are displayed perfectly, and you can view email attachments, and access all your Word documents even from OneDrive, OneDrive for Business or SharePoint. Also, very important feature, especially in the workplace, the ability to leave any job unfinished, being able to pick up where you left it, since Word for iPad stores the last version of the document, regardless of the device you are using .



Even Excel spreadsheets present the user with all the typical functions of the homonymous application available for some time on the PC and Mac will be able to work with formulas, tables, charts, comments, hyperlinks, Sparklines and Conditional Formatting. Again, you can access your files directly from OneDrive and leave work at any time to resume from another device. Exact same goes for Power Point for the iPad, which allow you to work with images, tables, charts, SmartArt, transitions and animations, just like in the desktop version. The ability to upload documents in Word, Excel and PowerPoint files directly from OneDrive is also available for those who use the free versions of the three applications, but of course you can only view documents and even edit them.
